Impact is hiring Managed IT Interns for our Nationally ranked Best and Brightest Workplace!

Impact’s paid internship program is designed to provide our candidates with an understanding of our go-to market strategy, company culture and what a career at Impact Networking has to offer. We are looking for technology driven candidates who are excited to get out from behind the desk and gain real world experience. Managed IT Interns will be challenged and have the opportunity to develop a strong and vast technical skill set, business acumen, and interpersonal skills. The ultimate goal of our program is to bring on our intern candidates as a full time Managed IT employee upon graduation.

What Managed IT Interns get out of an Internship at Impact:

Our internship program is designed to assist candidates in the transition from academics to the professional work force. Through our hands-on internship program, candidates are given the chance to experience the consultative approach that our Field Network Engineers (FNE) exhibit first hand. Managed IT Interns receive mentorship from branch-specific FNEs, as well as the opportunity to openly interact with external clients. Candidates gain real world technical experience and participate in on-going training to develop time management, organization skills and the ability to work within teams and groups.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to Field Network Engineers in assigned territory
  • Assist in client implementations (Intern level work to be assigned, reviewed, and approved by assigned FNE, vCIO, or District Manager)
  • Help maintain, support, and troubleshoot our users’ networks, equipment, software and services
  • Attend pre- and post-sales client meetings with Business Development Specialists and Virtual CIOs, respectively.

Career Path:

Internships are a mutually beneficial agreement between Impact and those entering the workforce. It allows young professionals to gain real-life experience while test-driving a potential career. In addition, it allows Impact to benefit by training and observing to ensure potential employees will be a good fit for their business before hiring them on full-time.

Upon completion of this internship, each individual will have a review with his/her direct manager. If the experience has been mutually beneficial between the manager, team, and intern, a full-time opportunity as a part of the Service Desk may be extended upon graduation, so long as the hiring pipeline allows for such move.

Things We Are Looking For

Impact understands that students currently enrolled in college courses may not possess the high level IT knowledge that is required to be immediately successful in an engineer/administrator role. The goal of the internship is to gauge where an interns’ technical skillset currently lies and if those skills will lead to a smooth transition into the Unified Service Desk. With that said, this will be a very competitive hiring process and our goal is bring on those that have the highest degree of IT knowledge in each designated branch. While not all of our qualifications are required, those that possess the most IT skills that we have listed are most likely to be successful as a Managed IT Intern.
